Hello and Welcome to The Coastal Studio, I have had a life long love of all things art and craft and it has been a past time that I have always returned to. During the covid lockdowns I immersed myself into art and craft, searching for home based activities that would provide new experiences. It was during this time that I stumbled across the traditional art of Indian Block Printing. Whilst I learned a number of new craft skills during this time, this was the one that I instantly fell in love with. I found the whole process enchanting, from selecting my paint colours to holding the wooden block in my hand and creating. The printing process was both meditative and relaxing whilst the end result provided a welcome dopamine hit along with quality finished pieces that brightened the home and made wonderful gifts for friends and family. More than half a decade on, I still get that sense of calm whilst printing my designs and sheer joy when looking at the finished pieces that I have created, which is why I am so passionate about sharing this ancient and beautiful art form. I look forward to welcoming you to The Coastal Studio where you too can experience the joy of Indian Block Printing first hand.
